How Pet Photo Engraving Works: From Photo to Jewelry
Personalized pet photo engraving turns your own dog or cat's face into a wearable portrait. Instead of choosing a generic design, you start with a photograph of the animal you know by heart. Here's how the process works at Treuespur.
What is pet photo engraving?
We use your original pet photograph to prepare recognizable outlines and characteristic facial details for an engraving on an eligible piece of jewelry. The engraving is monochrome, not a full-color photograph printed on metal.
1. Choose the right pet photo
Look for clear eyes, recognizable fur and a complete head. A well-lit smartphone image often works. See our photo selection guide.
2. Choose a piece that suits your style
Consider a necklace, bracelet or keychain. Each design offers a different shape and engraving area.
3. Upload the photo and any name
Select the available finish and personalization options on the product page. If the design allows a name, enter the spelling carefully. Some products let you include multiple pets, one photo per pendant.
4. We prepare the portrait for engraving
We work from the image to create an appropriate engraving design. If key details are unclear or the photo is unsuitable, we'll contact you before producing the piece.
5. Engraving and production
After the design is prepared, it is engraved onto the selected jewelry piece and checked before dispatch. Shipping estimates depend on the destination and are shown in the applicable shipping information.
Portrait, silhouette or projection?
A portrait engraving shows facial details on a pendant. A silhouette design follows the outline of your pet's head. A photo projection necklace stores an image inside a small lens and reveals it when viewed or illuminated; it is not the same as a surface engraving.
Can I include more than one pet?
Some of our portrait necklaces, bracelets and keychains offer multiple pendants. Check the options on your chosen product. Each pet generally needs its own clear photograph.
Can I use an old photo?
Yes, potentially. The important thing is whether the recognizable details are still visible. Highly blurred or very small photos may limit the result. We review the image and get in touch if necessary.
